This guide explains how to apply Standard Nail Wraps, Fully Cured Gel Nail Wraps and Semi-Cured Gel Nail Wraps at home.
Before You Start
- Remove any old nail polish.
- Wash and thoroughly dry your hands.
- Gently push back the cuticles.
- Make sure the nail surface is clean and free from oil or hand cream.
- Choose a wrap slightly narrower than the nail so it does not overlap the skin or cuticle.
Good preparation helps the wrap adhere properly.
How to Apply Standard Nail Wraps
No lamp required
1. Prep
Start with clean, completely dry nails.
2. Choose Your Size
Select the wrap that fits your nail without touching the surrounding skin or cuticle.
3. Apply
Place the wrap near the base of the nail and smooth firmly towards the tip. Press from the centre outwards to minimise creases and air bubbles.
4. File
Fold the excess gently over the nail tip and file downwards to remove it. Avoid aggressively sawing the file from side to side.
5. Finish
Press around the edges once more to make sure the wrap is securely sealed. For additional protection, you can apply a compatible clear top coat over standard nail wraps.
How to Apply Fully Cured Gel Nail Wraps
No UV or LED lamp required
Fully Cured Gel Nail Wraps arrive already cured.
1. Prep
Clean and dry the natural nail thoroughly.
2. Select the Correct Wrap
Choose the closest size without allowing the wrap to overlap the skin or cuticle.
3. Apply
Place the fully cured gel wrap onto the nail and smooth it firmly into position.
4. File
File the excess away from the free edge using downward strokes.
5. Seal
Press around the edges and tip to ensure the wrap is firmly attached. There is no curing stage because the gel wrap is already fully cured.
How to Apply Semi-Cured Gel Nail Wraps
UV or LED lamp required
Semi-Cured Gel Nail Wraps remain flexible until you complete the curing process.
1. Prep
Start with clean, dry and oil-free nails.
2. Select Your Size
Choose the wrap that covers the nail without touching the cuticle or surrounding skin.
3. Apply
Position the wrap and smooth it firmly across the nail.
4. Trim
Carefully remove the excess, leaving the wrap shaped neatly to your natural nail.
5. Cure
Cure your nails under a compatible UV or LED lamp according to the instructions supplied with your product and lamp. Do not skip the curing step.
6. Finish
Check that the edges are fully secure and file the nail into your preferred shape if required.
How Long Do Nail Wraps Last?
Wear depends on the type of wrap, nail preparation, application and everyday activities. Clean, oil-free nails and properly sealed edges can help improve wear.
